    The Deputy Prince of Eastern is sponsoring today the "Logistics Forum 2021" in the Asharqia Chamber​ 


    Today, Sunday (November 7, 2021), His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, will sponsor the “Logistics Forum 2021” organized by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Logistics Committee, where participants discuss the reality and independent logistic activity in the Kingdom And in the Eastern Province in particular, by addressing several issues related to the logistic sector, whose development and development is one of the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

    This was said by the Chairman of Chamber of the Board of Directors Abdul-Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, explaining that the forum is one of the new events (after the Corona pandemic) that the Chamber intends to organize in presence, taking into account preventive precautions, as it will discuss the idea of ​​establishing a full-service logistics area in the eastern region, based on the importance of the region and the relative advantages that characterize it, being the starting point to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries via land, sea, and air, and from there to various countries of Asia, and thus to various parts of the world. He added that the experts and specialists in the forum will stand at these advantages, which characterize the eastern region, which stems from its being the Gulf industrial capital, and the oil and gas capital of the Kingdom, on whose land several giant petrochemical industry complexes stand, as well as the presence of several cities. Industrial areas in Dammam, Jubail, and Khafji, which enhance the region’s position in supporting the Kingdom’s vision projects that aspire to be a global logistics platform.

    Al-Khalidi pointed out that the forum is among several activities carried out by the Chamber to support the Kingdom's options in reaching the declared strategic goal, which is (the global logistics platform), such as studies, research, seminars, workshops, and meetings with all concerned parties, as many important points were monitored. On the issue of logistics, we hope it will be discussed in more depth in this forum.

    For his part, the head of the Chamber’s Logistics Committee, Rakan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Otaishan, said that the importance of the forum stems from its holding after the launch of the national transport strategy, which emphasized the importance of the Kingdom’s location between the three continents (Europe, Africa, and Asia), and from there to North and South America.

    He expressed his hope that this forum will be a new addition to support work options in the logistical field, which is one of the most important areas through which job opportunities and activity are available for the private sector, except that it is a broad sector that is not satisfied with the local field to include global and regional markets.

    It is noteworthy that the forum is held in sessions, where the main session is held under the honor of His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman Al Saud, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, and His Excellency the Secretary of the Eastern Province / Eng. Fahd bin Muhammad Al-Jubeir, and His Excellency the President of the Public Transport Authority / Dr. Rumaih bin Muhammad Al-Rumaih, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber / Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, and Chairman of the Logistics Committee of the Asharqia Chamber / Rakan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Otaishan.
    First session
    The first dialogue session, which will be held under the title (Logistics Areas), will be addressed by His Excellency the President of the Public Transport Authority / Dr. Rumaih bin Muhammad Al-Rumaih, and His Excellency Eng. Fahd bin Muhammad Al-Jubeir / The Eastern Province Secretary, and the session will be chaired and moderated by the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Almajdouie Company / Abdullah bin Ali Almajdouie.
    second session
    On the other hand, the second dialogue session, titled (Enhancing the Comparative Advantages of the Eastern Region), will be addressed by His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Ports / Omar bin Talal Hariri, His Excellency the Deputy Governor of the General Authority for Zakat, Tax and Customs to facilitate trade and the customer experience / Abdul Rahman bin Suleiman Al-Thukair, and His Excellency Undersecretary for Logistics Services at the Ministry of Transport and Logistics / Louay bin Omar Mashabi, and chairs the session’s dialogues and is moderated by a member of the Logistics Committee of the Asharqia Chamber / Fawaz bin Khaled Al Bawardi.
    third session
    As for the third dialogue session, which will be held under the title (The Role of the Private and Public Sectors in Developing Logistics Activity), during which the CEO of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NDLP) / Sulaiman bin Khalid Al-Mazrou, and the Vice President for Procurement and Supply Chain Management at Saudi Aramco / Eng. Mohammed Bin Ayed Al-Shammari,And the CEO of the Saudi Electronic Information Exchange Company (Tabadul) / Abdulaziz bin Abdulwahab Al-Shamsi, and the CEO of the (MSC / MSC) group of companies / Sorn Toft, and chairing the session’s dialogues and moderated by the head of the Logistics Council in the Jeddah Chamber / Rayan bin Mustafa Qutb.
